We are delighted to invite you to a fantastic evening with Nigel Melville – Director of Professional Rugby at the Rugby Football Union (RFU) on Thursday 8th February 2018 from 6pm – 9pm, at the Leathersellers’ Hall, London.
Nigel Melville, currently Director of Professional Rugby for RFU, is a former England scrum half and captain and was youngest player to captain England on his début when he led them against Australia in November 1984. He went on to make another twelve appearances over the next four years. It will be an exciting time of year with the opening round of the 2018 Six Nations Championship having taken place the previous weekend.
The event is being held in aid of the Duke of Wellington’s Regiment Memorial Appeal. The Dukes (as the Regiment was known throughout the army) recruited from Yorkshire, Nigel Melville’s home county, and was synonymous with the game of rugby as evidenced by the many internationals who came from regiment. The Dukes became part of the Yorkshire Regiment in 2006.
